Michael Jackson's Spooky Sevens
[Posted Monday, April 27, 2026 4/27/26 9:59 am]

I just love these numbers things. Michael Jackson is popular again because of his new bio movie Michael, so here are some fascinating facts about Michael Jackson:

  • Michael Jackson signed his will on 7/7/02.
  • Michael Jackson's memorial was on 7/7/09, exactly 7 years after the will was signed.
  • Michael Jackson's two biggest hits, "Black & White" and "Billie Jean," were each #1 for 7 weeks.
  • Michael Jackson's three biggest albums, "Thriller," "Bad" and "Dangerous," each produced 7 top 40 hits.
  • Michael Jackson was the 7th of 9 children.
  • Michael Jackson was born in 1958 ... 19 + 58 = 77
  • Michael Jackson died on the 25th ... 2 + 5 = 7
  • Michael Jackson has 7 letters in his first and last name.
Now that I've posted this, am I Off The Wall? Or am I just Bad?

Review: Ringo's Long Long Road
[Posted Saturday, April 25, 2026 4/25/26 9:45 am]

Following the critical and commercial success of his 2025 country record Look Up, Ringo Starr teamed up once again with legendary producer and songwriter T Bone Burnett for his new album, Long Long Road.

The tracklist features standout original pieces written primarily by Burnett, alongside co-writes by Ringo himself and longtime collaborator Bruce Sugar.

The lead single "It's Been Too Long" features the beautiful backing vocals of Molly Tuttle and Sarah Jarosz. The album also includes guest appearances from the likes of Sheryl Crow, Billy Strings, and St. Vincent.

A spirited re-recording of "Choose Love", the title track from his 2005 pop-rock album is reimagined here with an Americana heartbeat, as well as a beautiful cover of Carl Perkins' 1959 hit, "I Don't See Me in Your Eyes Anymore".

For Ringo fans old and new, Long Long Road offers reassurance that the road is still wide open and best traveled with good friends.

Getting stuck in Wordle
[Posted Thursday, April 23, 2026 4/23/26 7:15 am]

Wordle is a fun game, but don't you just hate it when you make an almost good guess, but end up with too many possible winning words?

This is known in the game as a guessing trap. As you can see, I fell into this trap yesterday.

Oh, wait. There he is.

Never mind.

Parking time-warp
[Posted Saturday, April 11, 2026 4/11/26 9:34 am]

This is a real sign I recently spotted attached to a parking meter pole in the city of Santa Monica:

40 hour parking between 9 AM and 6 PM? How many quarters do I put in for that? And except on Sunday? Does that mean I can park there for MORE than 40 hours on Sunday? As long as you don't do it between 3 AM and 5 AM, I suppose.

I wonder how many cars have disappeared into another dimension after being parked here...

Nothing really matters
